What is Umino?

Umino Co., Ltd. specializes in the R&D and production of marine bivalves, fish, and algae. It was founded in 1986 in order to improve the quality of pearl oysters and advance marine organism reproduction technologies. In 2009 it was established as an institute of WDB Co., Ltd., and in October 2010 it took another step forward by becoming a new legal entity. And at the end of 2018, the owner changed, and restarted as “Umino Co., Ltd.”

Our company currently engages in the following activities:

(1) Contract testing of marine organisms

(2) Microalgae production development

(3) Production and sales of pearl oyster seeds and edible bivalve (such as oyster) seeds

(4) Production and sales of ornamental saltwater fish

These four activities comprise the main part of our service offerings.
